Wholesale fabrics and textiles from China
We source fabrics, knitted fabrics, trims and yarn for garment manufacturers and wholesalers. We check the weight, composition, width and colour of every batch before shipping.
Buying in China: what you need to know
China’s main fabric centre is Shaoxing in Zhejiang province, specifically Keqiao district with the “China Textile City” wholesale market. Fabrics from thousands of weaving mills and dye houses in the region come here. Other important centres are the Zhongda fabric market in Guangzhou, Shengze (Wujiang, Jiangsu) for polyester and silk fabrics, and Haining (Zhejiang) for warp knits and upholstery fabrics. So you can buy almost any fabric wholesale from China — the question is choosing the mill and controlling the batch.
A fabric is described by precise parameters, and that is what you should order by: fibre composition in percent, weight in g/m², width, weave, finish, shrinkage after washing and colour fastness. The sample you held in your hands and the batch that arrives two months later can differ in weight and shade if these parameters are not fixed in the contract.
The market has both vertically integrated mills (weaving, dyeing, finishing) and trading companies that collect fabric from various producers. The latter are more flexible in range but less consistent in colour matching. Typical buyer mistakes are ordering from photos without approving a lab dip (colour sample), not checking shrinkage, and not allowing for the fact that different rolls of one order may be dyed in different lots.
We work directly with fabric suppliers in Shaoxing and Guangzhou, send samples and lab dips, and fix weight, composition, width and tolerances in the contract. Before shipping we inspect the batch: we weigh samples, measure width and check for defects on an inspection table. We deliver fabrics to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, including as groupage for small manufacturers. For sewing workshops we can combine fabric, lining, thread and colour-matched trims in one shipment, so production does not stand idle waiting for separate items.

How we check this particular product
- Weight g/m²
- We cut and weigh samples from different rolls and compare them with the weight in the contract.
- Composition
- We request composition test reports; if in doubt — laboratory testing.
- Width and defects
- We measure usable width and check rolls on an inspection table: stains, snags, shade variation.
- Colour
- We compare batch colour with the approved lab dip under the same lighting and check shade between rolls.
- Shrinkage and fastness
- We request test results for shrinkage after washing and colour fastness to washing and rubbing.
What to send for an accurate quote
- Fabric type and use (apparel, uniforms, furniture, technical)
- Composition, weight in g/m² and width
- Colours (Pantone or samples) and quantity per colour in metres or kg
- A sample or photo of the fabric, if available
- Finish and testing requirements
- Delivery city and deadline
Shipping: what to keep in mind
Rolls and weight
Fabrics ship in rolls wrapped in film and bags; we calculate cost by weight and by volume and choose the better option for the batch.
Moisture protection
Rolls are packed in waterproof film to prevent stains and mould in transit.
Consolidated shipments
We consolidate fabrics from different mills at a warehouse in China and ship them as one batch.
Documents and certificates
Uzbekistan
Conformity requirements depend on the fabric type and use; we check by HS code whether an O‘zstandart certificate is needed.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia (EAEU)
Textile materials — TR CU 017/2011 “On the safety of light industry products”. We check by HS code.
All countries
The exact fibre composition on the invoice is mandatory: it determines the HS code and the duty rate.
Requirements depend on the exact HS code. We check them before purchase and include the cost of certification in the quote.
HS codes and duty rates
| HS code | Product | EAEU CCT rate (KZ, KG, RU) | Calculate for your country |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5208 39 000 0 | Dyed cotton fabrics, up to 200 g/m² | 10% | Calculate |
| 5208 52 000 0 | Printed cotton fabrics, 100–200 g/m² | 10% | Calculate |
| 5407 52 000 0 | Fabrics of textured polyester, dyed | 7% | Calculate |
| 5407 61 100 0 | Fabrics of non-textured polyester, bleached | 8% | Calculate |
| 6006 32 900 0 | Synthetic knitted fabric, dyed | 5% | Calculate |
| 5903 20 900 0 | Polyurethane-coated fabrics | 5% | Calculate |
| 5509 21 000 0 | Polyester single yarn | 5% | Calculate |
EAEU rates are taken from the official EAEU Common Customs Tariff (EEC Council Decision No. 80), excluding preferences and temporary exemptions. For Uzbekistan and other countries the calculator uses the rate of the selected country. The final code depends on the exact product description.
Questions about this category
Where in China should I buy fabric wholesale?
The main centre is Shaoxing (Keqiao), and also the Zhongda market in Guangzhou. We work with mills and wholesalers in both centres and inspect batches on site.
What is the minimum order for fabric?
From a stock-fabric warehouse you can take as little as one roll; when ordering dyeing in your colour, the mill usually sets a minimum per colour. We confirm this for each fabric.
Can the fabric be dyed in our colour?
Yes. The mill makes a lab dip to Pantone or your sample; after approval it dyes the batch.
How do you check fabric weight and composition?
We check weight by weighing samples from the batch, and composition through test reports or in a laboratory.
How do I avoid shade differences between rolls?
Order each colour as one dye lot and check the shade of the rolls before shipping. We fix this in the contract.
Do you supply trims together with fabric?
Yes. We colour-match zips, buttons, thread and tapes and ship them in one batch with the fabric.
How long do fabrics from China take?
Stock fabrics take from a few days to prepare; made-to-order fabrics usually 15–45 days. Delivery to Tashkent by truck takes 12–20 days, by rail 18–30 days.
