Buying in China: what you need to know
China is one of the largest producers of warehouse equipment. Heli (Anhui Heli) is in Hefei, Hangcha is in Hangzhou, and Lonking makes forklifts at its plants in Shanghai and Fujian province. Stackers, reach trucks and pallet trucks are also made by EP Equipment and Noblelift in Zhejiang province. The large factories have broad ranges: diesel and LPG forklifts, electric forklifts with lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, and warehouse equipment.
Buying a forklift from China the right way starts with the operating conditions. Load capacity is chosen taking the load centre into account, not just the pallet weight. Lift height and mast type (duplex, triplex with full free lift) depend on the racking and door height. For outdoor use and uneven surfaces, diesel machines on pneumatic tyres are suitable; for an enclosed warehouse — electric forklifts on solid (super-elastic) tyres. A lithium battery costs more but allows opportunity charging during breaks and needs no electrolyte maintenance. For narrow aisles we consider reach trucks and stackers; for small warehouses — manual and semi-electric pallet trucks.
Factories differ in engines, hydraulics, mast quality and electronics. Large manufacturers fit well-known engines, controllers and documented lithium batteries, and provide parts catalogues. Small assemblers cut corners on the mast, chains and hydraulics, and parts for them are hard to find later. Typical mistakes are ignoring the door height when choosing the mast, putting a diesel machine in an enclosed workshop, or not checking that the charger suits the local grid.

Shipping: what to keep in mind
Packing and securing
Forklifts are secured on flatracks or in containers, with the mast fixed so it is not damaged in transit.
Lithium batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous goods: a safety data sheet (MSDS) and a UN38.3 test report are required. We prepare them in advance.
Lead times
Series models are usually assembled in 15–45 days, then delivered: by road 12–20 days, by rail 18–30 days to Tashkent.

Uzbekistan
An O‘zstandart certificate of conformity for machinery subject to mandatory certification; registration as a self-propelled machine where required.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia (EAEU)
As a rule, TR CU 010/2011 “On the safety of machinery and equipment”; for electric forklifts also 004/2011 and 020/2011. We check by HS code.

Invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, machine passports and lithium battery documents.
