Buying in China: what you need to know
China is the largest tyre producer, and most factories are concentrated in Shandong province: Triangle in Weihai, Linglong in Zhaoyuan, Sailun and Doublestar in Qingdao, with many manufacturers in Dongying and Guangrao. Aeolus is in Jiaozuo, Henan province, Double Coin in Shanghai, and Advance is a Guizhou Tyre brand. The large factories produce all-steel radial truck tyres (TBR), mining and industrial tyres (OTR) and passenger tyres (PCR).
Buying tyres wholesale from China pays off when the right model is chosen. For truck tyres, the wheel position (steer, drive, trailer), load index, ply rating, tread pattern and application — long-haul, regional or mixed on/off-road — all matter. For OTR tyres — construction type, tread depth and cut resistance. For passenger tyres — season, speed index and the size range your market actually needs. Dealers need a range of fast-moving sizes from the start; fleets need to lock in a model and a factory so that the tyres on their vehicles are uniform.
The difference between factories is huge. Large manufacturers have consistent compound quality, control at every stage and export certification. Small factories offer a low price, but quality can vary from batch to batch. Typical buyer mistakes are not checking the production date (old tyres from stock), buying “branded” tyres without documents, and not realising that the same model may be made in different versions for different markets.

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia (EAEU)
Tyres for wheeled vehicles fall under TR CU 018/2011. We determine the form of conformity assessment by HS code.

How do I check a tyre’s production date?
There is a four-digit code on the sidewall: the first two digits are the week, the last two the year. We check the date before shipment and set requirements for it in the contract.
