Cable and wire from China: power, ABC, XLPE 10 kV, solar
We source power, control and special-purpose cable from Chinese factories for your project. We check the actual cross-section, conductor material and insulation before shipping, not after installation.
Buying in China: what you need to know
China’s cable industry is one of the largest in the world. The main manufacturers are concentrated in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Hebei and Henan provinces. Alongside large groups such as Far East Cable, Baosheng, Hengtong and ZTT, there are hundreds of mid-sized factories that make cable both to Chinese GB standards and to GOST or IEC for export orders. So you can buy cable from China in almost any design — the real question is what ends up on the drum and which standard it is made to.
The main risk when buying cable wholesale is that it does not match the specification. Typical cases: a conductor smaller than the marked cross-section; copper-clad aluminium (CCA) instead of solid copper; insulation made from recycled PVC; short length on the drum. Such cable looks no different from good cable, but the difference shows up in heating, voltage drop and service life. A “below-market” price from a cable supplier is almost always explained by one of these points.
Factories also differ in equipment. Cable for 6–10 kV with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation requires dry-curing lines and a test laboratory with partial discharge measurement — far from every factory has them. Many plants make simple 0.66–1 kV PVC cable, but consistent quality depends on raw material control. We match the factory to the cable type rather than using one supplier for everything. If an order includes 0.4 kV power cable, XLPE 10 kV and ABC, that often means two or three different factories in one shipment.
What we do differently: we set the standard (GOST, IEC or GB), cross-section, conductor class and tolerances in the contract, then at the factory we test samples from every drum — conductor diameter, DC resistance and length. We deliver cable to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other CIS countries with markings and test certificates that your technical supervisor will accept.

Control and flexible cable
Control cable with copper conductors, flexible cable with rubber and PVC sheath for moving machinery and welding.
Solar cable
Single-core DC cable for photovoltaic systems, MC4-compatible connectors, 1500 V DC cable.
Low-voltage and fibre-optic cable
Twisted pair, coaxial cable, fibre-optic cable for structured cabling and backbones — Hengtong, ZTT and others.
How we check this particular product
- Cross-section and conductor material
- We measure the diameter and number of strands and weigh a length of conductor. We check copper for an aluminium core (CCA).
- Conductor resistance
- We measure DC resistance and compare it with the limit for the stated cross-section under GOST 22483 / IEC 60228.
- Insulation and sheath
- We check insulation thickness, thickness variation and length marking. For XLPE we request voltage test and partial discharge test reports.
- Length and drums
- We check metres against the meter counter and markings, the condition of the drums and the sealing of cable ends.
- Factory test reports
- We request the factory’s routine test reports for every delivery length and compare them with our own measurements.
What to send for an accurate quote
- Cable type or design: number and size of cores, conductor material
- Rated voltage and installation conditions (air, ground, cable tray)
- Required standard: GOST, IEC or GB
- Metres per item and preferred delivery lengths
- Sheath requirements: PVC, flame-retardant low-smoke, halogen-free, armour
- Delivery city and deadline
Shipping: what to keep in mind
Drums are heavy cargo
Cable on drums hits the weight limit of a truck or container before it fills the volume. We calculate the load by weight in advance.
Securing drums
We fix drums with chocks and lashing so they do not roll and damage the cable in transit.
Consolidated shipments
Small quantities of cable in coils can go as groupage together with other electrical items.
Documents and certificates
Uzbekistan
For cable products subject to mandatory certification, an O‘zstandart certificate of conformity is issued. We check the list by the HS code of each item.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia (EAEU)
Cable rated up to 1000 V AC generally falls under TR CU 004/2011. Cable for 6–10 kV is outside this regulation — we determine the requirements separately and check them by HS code.
All countries
Factory test reports for every delivery length and marking showing the standard, cross-section and voltage.
Requirements depend on the exact HS code. We check them before purchase and include the cost of certification in the quote.
HS codes and duty rates
| HS code | Product | EAEU CCT rate (KZ, KG, RU) | Calculate for your country |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8544 49 910 8 | Cables and wires up to 1000 V, conductor diameter over 0.51 mm | 10% | Calculate |
| 8544 49 950 9 | Cables and wires for 80 to 1000 V, other | 10% | Calculate |
| 8544 49 990 0 | Cables and wires for 1000 V | 10% | Calculate |
| 8544 60 100 0 | Cables for over 1000 V with copper conductors | 10% | Calculate |
| 8544 60 900 9 | Cables for over 1000 V with other conductors | 12% | Calculate |
| 8544 70 000 0 | Optical fibre cables | 0% | Calculate |
| 8544 11 100 0 | Enamelled copper winding wire | 10% | Calculate |
EAEU rates are taken from the official EAEU Common Customs Tariff (EEC Council Decision No. 80), excluding preferences and temporary exemptions. For Uzbekistan and other countries the calculator uses the rate of the selected country. The final code depends on the exact product description.
Questions about this category
How do I avoid getting cable with an undersized conductor?
We set the standard and tolerances in the contract, and before shipping we measure conductor diameter and DC resistance on samples. If the values do not meet the standard, the batch does not ship.
Can I buy GOST-standard cable in China?
Yes, many export factories make cable to GOST on order. It must be stated in the specification: cable made to GB with the same nominal cross-section may differ in design and tolerances.
Which is better value from China — copper or aluminium cable?
It depends on the cross-section and the project. For large sizes and trunk lines aluminium is often more economical; for internal networks and small sizes copper is usually used. We select according to the project and your country’s standards.
What is the minimum order for cable?
Factories usually make cable in delivery lengths, so the minimum batch depends on the cable type. Small quantities of common types can be taken from a distributor’s warehouse in China.
How long does cable from China take?
Production depends on the factory’s workload, usually 15–45 days for standard types. Delivery to Tashkent by truck takes 12–20 days, by rail 18–30 days.
Do you supply 10 kV XLPE-insulated cable?
Yes. For XLPE cable we choose factories with dry-curing lines and a laboratory, and request voltage test and partial discharge measurement reports.
Can you deliver cable to Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan?
Yes, we arrange delivery to EAEU and Central Asian countries with conformity documents according to the importing country’s requirements.
