Buying in China: what you need to know
China produces sandwich panels and steel structures in huge volumes, and buying sandwich panels from China is usually cheaper than from local dealers, especially when you order the frame and cladding as one package. Many steel structure and panel factories are located in Shandong (Qingdao, Weifang), Hebei and Jiangsu provinces. Most work on a “design — fabrication — shipment” basis: the factory calculates the hangar or warehouse frame itself and issues erection drawings.
What matters most is not the price per square metre but what lies behind it. For panels, that is the thickness and grade of the steel skin, the zinc coating class, the type and density of insulation (PIR, mineral wool, expanded polystyrene EPS) and the joint geometry. For the frame — column and truss sections, steel grade and, above all, the loads it was designed for. Low-tier factories save on metal thickness and wool density, and the difference only shows when measured. Factories with their own design department provide calculations and a steel specification for every item.
Typical buyer mistakes: ordering a frame designed to Chinese codes by default without stating the snow and wind loads and the site’s seismicity; not agreeing the fire resistance of panels for a warehouse or production building; forgetting flashings, fasteners, gutters and seals, without which the building cannot be assembled. Another mistake is ordering panels in one length without a layout and then cutting them on site.
We start with the site data: dimensions, height, cranes, doors, construction region. We pass them to the factory, receive the calculation and drawings, check loads and sections, and only then fix the price. We check the sandwich panel and frame supplier on site and measure metal and insulation before shipping. We send the complete building to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries with a truck loading plan and an erection scheme. If you need only panels for your own design, we supply them separately, with flashings and fasteners.

- We check the loads the frame is designed for: snow, wind, seismic, crane loads. We check sections against the specification.

Which insulation should I choose: PIR, mineral wool or EPS?
PIR gives good thermal insulation at a smaller thickness; mineral wool is non-combustible and suits buildings where fire resistance matters; EPS is a budget option for unheated and auxiliary buildings. The choice depends on the building’s use and fire safety requirements.
Will a Chinese frame withstand our snow and seismic loads?
If it was designed for your loads — yes. We give the factory the snow and wind loads and the site’s seismicity and check that they are included in the calculation.
Can I buy just sandwich panels without a frame?
Yes. Send the layout or drawings — we will supply panels of the required length, flashings and fasteners.
Who will erect the building?
Erection is done by your own or a local contractor using the factory drawings. On request we arrange supervision of erection by a factory specialist.
How long does fabrication take?
Fabrication follows the factory schedule, and we fix the timeline in the contract. Delivery to Tashkent by truck takes 12–20 days, by rail 18–30 days.
Do you supply modular site cabins and offices?
Yes: modular buildings and container-type units for offices, dormitories and posts. We select insulation and wiring for your climate and grid voltage.
